Due to the recent growth and success of Sequenom Center for Molecular Medicine’s diagnostic tests, the company is currently expanding and is looking for a Part Time Customer Service Representative.  Reporting to the Customer Service Manager in San Diego, CA this position will work with physician offices, hospital laboratories and internal customers to ensure that all of the client needs are addressed and specimen referrals are successfully referred to the laboratory. This position will be 20 hours per week.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Resolve routine customer requests with products or services via inbound, outbound calls, or the Internet
  • Speak with customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner using protocol procedures
  • Inquire, clarify, and confirm customer requirements and understanding of the solution. Provide additional customer education as needed
  • Qualify and establish inbound new customers requesting SCMM products and services
  • Participate in activities designed to improve customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Support field operations in maintaining support services for improved patient access to the SCMM portfolio of tests
  • Perform administrative support for medical record management, CRM data maintenance, and internal records to assure HIPAA compliance

Laboratory Associate /        

Job Description:
Due to the recent successful launch of MaterniT21, we are looking to hire additional Laboratory Associates to work in our San Diego CLIA lab.  Under supervision of licensed personnel, the Laboratory Associate will assist with routine and specialty clinical testing and provide general support for the laboratory.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic molecular processes associated with laboratory tests such as DNA extraction, PCR, and genomic library preparation under the supervision of certified laboratory personnel
  • Accession clinical samples and enter data into to the laboratory information system
  • Prepare reagents and controls using automated or fixed volume measuring devices
  • Maintain inventory of consumable items; unpack, record and store reagents and supplies

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the production of medical diagnostic testing in a CLIA lab. The Scientist will ensure that complex molecular diagnostic assays and systems are performed under appropriate compliance and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also independently perform clinical lab testing and other scientific examinations and record appropriate test documentations and evaluate test results.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Calculate results using testing data with both manual and computerized procedures
  • Accurately enter results of testing. Review reports to ensure accurate test result reporting
  • Identify and respond to critical values or unusual or unexpected results and maintain proper documentation
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment  
  • Evaluate instrument performance check results.  Perform linearity, accuracy and precision checks as required

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Laboratory Information Systems, the Programmer Analyst will work as a member of the Information Technology department to develop and maintain software systems for Sequenom’s Center for Molecular Medicine. The systems include but are not limited to LIS and LIMS.
