Comprehensive multi-gene panel for rare somatic mutation profiling

Recent studies suggest genetic variants may play a significant role in tumorigenesis, pathogenesis, and disease progression1. Oncogene mutations, in particular, may be key to cancer research. Using the MassARRAY system, one group developed a high-throughput method for genotyping over 200 mutations and discovered that  >30% of 1,000 tumor samples carried at least one mutation2. The original set of oncogene assays has now been refined and enhanced with the TypePLEX(R) chemistry, and is available through Sequenom as the OncoCarta Panel v1.0.

The MassARRAY system has proven to be a highly sensitive and high-throughput method for genotyping, LOH, and rare mutation analysis. Now we offer a ready-to-use oncogene panel for rapid discovery and validation of over 230 somatic mutations, ranging from single base changes to inserts and deletions of varying lengths, in key oncogenes including EGFR, BRAF, KIT, and KRAS.

Protocol

The OncoCarta™ Panel v1.0 workflow uses a simple PCR and primer extension method followed by mass spec readout. After primer extension using TypePLEX® reagents, the products are cleaned up and dispensed onto our proprietary SpectroCHIP® II matrix. You can load up to 16 samples per chip, and process up to 8-10 chips per day. We also offer custom services with a minimum order of one chip, or 15 samples plus one control, and extended throughput to accommodate your larger studies.
