Automation for Ultra-High-Throughput SNP Analysis
We will present a newly developed and validated automated, error-free
SNP analysis platform that is completely integrated, highly reliable
and features substantial cost savings. Further, this platform dramatically
reduces cycle times and enables throughput capabilities of 100,000
analyses per day with full sample tracking and on-line data analysis.
Novel technologies will be presented that include rapid, high-throughput,
low sample volume thermal cycling; highly parallel, nanoliter sample
transfer; and real-time, error-free genotype data acquisition and
analysis.

Highly Reliable Nanoliter Sample Dispensing Method for High Throughput
SNP Analysis Applications
SpectroPOINT, SEQUENOM’s new nanoliter sample dispensing instrument,
was built utilizing a proprietary, slotted pin design to eliminate
the current bottlenecking in sample transfer process. This unique
combination of this unique pin design and dispensing method assure
reliable nanoliter sample delivery from MTP to chip without incurring
any damage to the delicate, pre-loaded MALDI matrix. The throughput
of the SpectroPOINT is approximately 6 fold higher than most standard
piezo-based dispensing instrument.

Throughput Real-Time SNP Genotype Analysis Using MALDI-TOF
To meet the demands of high-throughput SNP analysis in the post-genome
era, we have developed a real-time system that enables rapid SNP genotyping
on a MALDI-TOF mass spectrometer. With this development, the accuracy,
analytical prowess and the reliability of mass spectroscopy has been
brought to bear genotyping applications on an industrial scale.
